Total Respiratory Quality (TRQ)

The objective of the Omnicare Respiratory Group is to focus the efforts of all our associates (through empowerment) on consistently anticipating, as well as exceeding, the expectations and needs of our customers in a profitable way.

What is TRQ?

The foundation upon which TRQ is built is derived from The Omnicare Respiratory Group mission, which states:

The Omnicare Respiratory Group will strive for and achieve Total Respiratory Quality (TRQ) which consistently anticipates the needs, and exceeds the expectations of our external and internal customers. We are passionate about patient care and recognized as the benchmark for excellence in our industry.

The TRQ program consists of two weparate, but equally important components, which provide empowerment.

The first component is the "TRQ Culture"...

The TRQ culture provides an environment or atmosphere in which each associate is empowered to affect positive change. With the establishment of this culture, comes the inherent opportunity to consistently strive for and subsequently achieve our goals through the ongoing identification of problems.

The second component is the "TRQ best practice"...

Our Total Respiratory Quality (TRQ) best practice is based on doing the righ things the right way the first time: Identifying and eliminating causes of errors, defects and hassles; continuoysly improving all parts of our operation.

The TRQ best practice provides the mechanism by which once a problem is identified, enalbes ut to champion the problem and provide a solution.

Our organization uses best judgment decisions, which always includes the goal of adding value and/or taking cost out of the provision of service to our clients, patients and internal customers.

The TRQ best practice process plays an integral part in achieving that goal. Together, we will strive to be successful in simplifying procedures, increasing accuracy and increasing productivity. We'll continue to look for ways to raise the service standard for the industry, and improve the quality of care for our ultimate customers, the residents.

The Omnicare Respiratory Group empowers associates through the use of Special Working Action Teams (SWAT). SWAT teams are made up of associates who have a personal interest in seeing a problem solved or a process improved. These teams meet as often as necessary to solve the problem or document the process. If a process is lacking, the Best Practice Team (BPT/SWAT) develops, and/or revises, current processes to meet the needs of our clients.

Total Respiratory Quality is achieved when the organization, as a whole, is committed to using standard best practice goals. These goals allow our associates to focus on using best practice principles as listed below:

Omnicare Respiratory Group Best Practice Principles

As a member of the Omnicare Respiratory Group Team, I make and evaluate my decisions based on the following Best Practices:
I consistently meet or exceed the needs and expectations of my customers (external and internal).
I always analyze my decisions and actions based on adding value and/or reducing costs to the provision of respiratory care.
I build partnerships with my customers based on integrity and the continuous improvement of my competencies.
I champion a problem, turn it inot an opportunity, and return it fixed.
I develop relationships that foster respect and trust by listening/understanding, empathizing and communication.
I am committed to creating continuous improvement through TRQ (Total Respiratory Quality and Best Practices).
I plan, I meet my commitments, I CFFC (Communicate, Follow through, Follow up, Communicate).
